No. It describes your configuration for review and version control. It does not change runtime behavior or enforce a retention policy.

How are unknown settings represented?

Unknown values are null in JSON and YAML; they are never silently converted to false or zero.

Yes. Add up to 20 uniquely named systems. Each system has its own purpose, provider and declared controls.
